One of the nature lovers sharing his story

De Weerribben-Wieden National Park can rightly be called a hot spot for nature lovers. We let a nature lover at our resort tell you more about it. Because there is plenty more natural beauty in the area.

For today, we've rented bicycles to explore the area on land. We've ordered lunch boxes at reception, which we take with us in our convenient bicycle baskets. Our destination is a tour around the Beulakerwijde and Belterwijde. We enjoy the view and the boats on the large lakes and every now and then, some rest and the beautiful nature of the vast reed fields, blooming grasslands and dense swamp forests of De Weerribben-Wieden nature reserve.

Halfway, we stop at the visitor center of De Wieden at Sint Jansklooster. There, we get detailed information about the history and the interesting facts about this area. Cycling in The Netherlands is a relaxing activity. By following the cycling junctions reception gave us, it is easiy to find your way. After a wonderful day on the bicycle, we treated ourselves to some snacks at the big sun terrace of the Beach Club. 

De Weerribben-Wieen is an area that is fascinating and colorful during every season: marigolds during spring, a wealth of green during summer, bronze reed fields during fall and ice-blue tranquility during winter.
